SEOUL – The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) staged a large military parade in Pyongyang, one of several events in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the victory of the country's Fatherland Liberation War, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
The military parade was held on Thursday evening at Kim Il Sung Square in central Pyongyang.
Kim Jong-un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, attended the event, a KCNA report said on Friday.

Soldiers representing different military units of the Korean People's Army (KPA) participated in the parade.

The parade also featured new attack drones, new-type intercontinental ballistic missiles and a stunt flight show, according to the KCNA report.

A solemn commemoration gathering and a large artistic performance attended by the DPRK top leader and senior officials were also held on the same day, according to the KCNA.
