HK boccia pair reaches final at Paralympics

A medal is guaranteed for Hong Kong boccia players at the Tokyo Paralympics, after the SAR’s team beat their semi-final opponents in the BC4 pairs event on Saturday.

The team of Leung Yuk-wing and Vivian Lau – with reserve Wong Kwan-hang – continued their winning streak, beating Portugal 4-2 to stay unbeaten in the event.

Leung had earlier won the individual BC4 bronze, and his team will take on Slovakia in the battle for gold in the afternoon.

But Hong Kong athletes will have to play for bronze in the BC3 pairs event, after being beaten by South Korea in the semi-finals, 5-2.

Ho Yuen-kei, Tse Tak-wah and reserve Liu Wing-tung will play against Greece later.

The Hong Kong team has already brought home two bronze medals in the Tokyo Paralympics.
