HK’s Leung Yuk-wing wins bronze in boccia

Hong Kong Paralympian and boccia player Leung Yuk-wing has won bronze at the Tokyo Games.

Leung beat China’s Zheng Yuansen 5-4 to secure the second Paralympics medal for team Hong Kong in Tokyo.

In a statement published shortly after his win, Chief Executive Carrie Lam congratulated Leung, saying the Paralympian’s achievements have made Hong Kong people proud.

Meanwhile, Secretary for Home Affairs Caspar Tsui said Leung had “performed brilliantly and showed the talent of Hong Kong athletes to the world”.

Leung will be back in action on Thursday morning for the Boccia mixed doubles with teammates Wong Kwan-hang and Vivian Lau.
