The Hong Kong Sevens could make its return in November after World Rugby announced plans for a condensed 2021 season featuring five women’s events and four for the men.

A joint men’s and women’s round at Hong Kong Stadium is set for November 5-7. That is scheduled between stops in Singapore and Dubai before the season wraps up in Cape Town in December.

The Series kicks off in May with back-to-back women’s rounds in Paris. It will then be put on hold over the summer to make room for the rescheduled Tokyo Olympics

World Rugby insist that the health and safety of all players and staff remain “top priority” as they continue to monitor developments in the Covid-19 pandemic.

There are also discussions towards additional men’s events in London and Vancouver.
