Hong Kong’s Stephanie Norton has secured a place in the Tokyo Games with a third place finish in the Laser Radial class at the Mussanah Open in Oman.

The achievement was announced by the Hong Kong Sailing Federation via a Facebook post on Thursday night.

Norton is the first female single-handed dinghy sailor to represent the SAR at the Olympics

Several other Hong Kong sailors narrowly missed out on Tokyo despite medal-winning performances in Oman.

Hong Kong’s 49er’s team of Akira Sakai and Russel Aylsworth, together with the 49er FX’s team of Molly Highfield and Sandy Choi won silver medals.
