The Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA) announced on Friday that local football matches will resume from February 20, after a coronavirus-imposed two-month break.
No fans will be allowed to attend the matches, which will take place at four venues: Mongkok Stadium, Hong Kong Stadium, Sai Wan Sports Ground, and – from March 7 – Tsueng Kwan O Sports Ground.
The eight teams in the Hong Kong Premier League were allowed to return to training on February 3.
Four Sapling Cup ties will begin the action, with details about Premier League fixtures to be announced later.
However, because of the shortened schedule, this season’s Senior Shield, FA Cup and reserve league will be scrapped.
Only two rounds of matches were played in November at the start of the 2020-2021 Premier League season before the league was suspended as the fourth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic hit the city.
