Football teams in the Hong Kong Premier League have been given permission by the government to resume training starting Wednesday.

The eight top flight clubs have been given access to five venues, including the Kitchee Training Centee in Shatin, as well as Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground and Aberdeen Sports Ground.

Players and staff must follow guidelines from the Hong Kong Football Association’s Medical Committee to fulfill the government’s required hygiene measures.

The FA also secured $3.5 million of support from the government. The funding covers the cost of the resumed matches from last season and the 28 matches at the beginning of the current season, which has been halted since late November because of coronavirus.

There’s no confirmation as to when the matches will resume.
